This project revolves around the transformation of a former military air base into a location for creative work.

In relation to the UN Goals, the project investigates the possibility of developing not only larger urban areas, as discussed in Goal 11: Make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable, but also other areas; such as rural or semi-rural ones similar to that of the chosen site. The program of the project acts as a suggestion of how to provide spaces for people who do not wish to work and live in dense, urban environments whilst still providing a sense of community. As a result, the project also touches upon the discussion of economic, social and cultural equality related to Goal 10 and that of ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns promoted by Goal 12. The design has developed from an investigation of the local clustering of creative businesses present on site and documentation of the existing spatial qualities. One of the aims of the project being to promote just, peaceful and inclusive societies related to Goal 16 by preserving and respecting the ongoing development of the area. Subsequently, enriching the existing structures and adapting them to their new use together with providing shared spaces for interaction and community building has become the focus of this project.
