Metal Workshop

Category
Design

In the workshop, which is commonly known as “the metal workshop” students, teachers and researchers work on models and prototypes for the products of tomorrow. Here they can test and develop designs in 1:1 scale, and visualise projects from idea stage to presentation.

Students are given special introductory courses to the workshop and can work with the workshop's many specialised machines and welding, grinding and rolling equipment, all of which help realise the industrial design solutions of tomorrow. The workshop provides opportunities for experiments in modelling and plastics and a whole range of specialist techniques, which equip designers to develop intelligent products, sustainable solutions and inspiring forms.

The workshop is run by a workshop manager with a professional design background, who can counsel the students and support them at a highly professional level on everything from the use of machines and safety to the properties and processing of materials.
