MONEY MAKER
-A game about money

Money Maker is a board game about maximizing moneymaking through bank loans and credit money. Unlike games like Monopoly, which is about earning money, the game concerns the creations of digital money through debt. Each player represents a fictional private bank.

The game is generally speaking a simulation on an economic system called fractional-reserve banking, where banks create virtual account money through loans and deposits. The game simultaneously represents three types of money: Commodity money (gold), Cash (physical state-created fiat money) and credit money (digital money generated through debt). The players of the game can prioritize thees different types of money.

Each player must maintain a cash or gold reserve of 10%, to create the most possible loans to reach the goal first. Throughout the game each player must deal with systemic implications of the global financial market.
