A PROJECT ABOUT SELFIES & SURVEILLANCE

The wall-tapestry is a craft that for centuries has been used to depict culture and events. Docile Bodies is a modern take on this tradition using the printed media. The tapestries visualize the contemporary phenomenon of image-use in social media and focuses on the images we take of ourselves — the selfie. The abstract depictions within them seek to speculate on how we use our bodies to produce these images, the technique behind it, and to also question - why do we do it?
