KADK is proud to welcome Jay Osgerby, one of the designers behind BarberOsgerby. The Lecture is part of the International Lecture Series.

The Room of Things

The talk will cover some of the studios projects and will then go on to explore the theme of ‘How We Work’ following Barber Osgerby’s research into new ways of working which started with the Tip Ton Chair in 2011, followed by the Pacific Chair to the 2018 release of Soft Work; a brand new system where the workstation is focused around a seating landscape, rather than an environment centred around desks.

Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby bring different qualities to their practice but, whilst being conscious of, and informed by the past, both believe in innovation, and experimentation with form and new technologies within an ethical framework.  Their work recognises the close relationship between design and fine art, as evidenced, for example, in their many installations.
